Importing after update

Hi All,

It has been a while since I've used the Apple Communities, and things seemed to have changed. I'm unable to locate the FCPX-specific forum. It used to be under "Professional Applications," but I"m unable to find that now, so if this isn't the correct community, maybe someone could kindly point me in the right direction.

I'm using a 2014 Retina 5K, 27-inch iMac with 4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7. I updated to Big Sur two days ago, and I am trying to use FCPX for the first time since the update.

I have always imported media from SDHC cards using a USB card reader. I started a new Library for a new project. The library was set up like others I'd done in the past.

When I try to import media from the SDHC card, it does not appear as an option in the import window. I opened iMovie and I can import media from the card into iMovie, so there doesn't seem to be a problem with the SDHC card or the card reader.

I tried importing the media from the SDHC card to a previous library, but it does not appear there either.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thank,

Gary

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

I went to System Preferences, unlocked the window, went to Security & Privacy, selected "Full Disc Access," selected "Final Cut Pro" and clicked the lock.

I restarted the computer, and I see the icon for the card on the desktop, but the SDHC card still does not appear under "devices" in the FCP import window.

Are there any other changes I should make in System Preferences?
