It’s been 3 weeks after upgrade to 14.4 and battery drain has lessened but still several times faster than on prior iOS (13.6.1). And phone gets super hot in just a few minutes of use with just one/any app running (safari, mail, etc) and background update off.

I wish I could restore back to 13.6

so there is no issue with 14.4, jus wait a few days for things to settle? 2 weeks now an still have this problem and just for good measure you issue 14.4.1?
