macbook says he has had a problem starting up

Hello,

Last week I get constantly the message that the computer is restarting because of a problem. But I restart because I regularly shutter down the computer (Macbook). This is the error message:

panic(cpu 2 caller 0xffffff8013cbfbe6): initproc exited -- exit reason namespace 2 subcode 0x4 description: none

Hey dadparent!

Sorry for the troubles, I’ve been there.

This symptom can be a part of a broad number of causes. Have you happened to see this article from Apple?:

If your computer restarted because of a problem:

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT200553

There are several tests in there that may help to point to a possible cause.

Other than that, can you say if this started happening after any event in particular? Or if this is just a random event you can’t predict?

Thanks! Happy to give any input if I can help, happy to.

Thank you DiZoE,

To be honest I used a App and Disk cleaner. Because of the problem I used to start reading this forum and found out that this can be the start of a lot of troubles. I never will do it again. I hoped the login report would bring you experts straight to the cause.

Another question: can't I even use this cleaners for removing apps? The seem to do this rather thoroughly and good

Thanks again for you quick respons.

Dirk

The Crash Report might be in direct consequences to the Disk Cleaner that was installed and since removed. AntiVirus, Disk Cleaners, Uninstaller, Optimizers are all in the same category - big trouble makers and should never be installed or used. They all should be removed via the Developers Instructions.

That said, one could do an in-place re-install and thereby replacing missing or corrupted system files caused by the Cleaner. This an be done by removing all external drives and hen re-booting into Recovery Mode - Command + r - immediately at startup. Choose reinstall macOS and follow the prompts.

Make a Time Machine Backup Before attempting.
