Restart Apple TV - Automatically

Is there a way, hidden or not, to auto restart the Apple TV 4K every morning at 2:00 AM?

My bandwidth drops to 10-20Mbps at least every day, sometimes multiple times a day. If I restart the Apple TV the bandwidth reverts back to 300Mbps or better. It obviously needs to be refreshed, but it is a pain in the *** to do it manually when your in the middle of a movie that locks up or hangs frequently.

Thank You.

While a restart may temporarily alleviate the issue, the real cause is in the network, and possibly in the router. Try restarting the router and any other optional network gear.

auto restart

Such option does not exist internally. Because it shouldn’t ever be needed. Try solving the actual issue instead.

But if you insist, then you may want to look into electrical outlet timers.

If you connect to the internet over Wi-Fi, then verify which Wi-Fi channels are used on your neighboring networks, and set your router to use channels that are least used, and thereby minimizing interference. (A router restart with good auto-channel picker would have the same effect.)

Nope. I am an IT Professional, I was the 10th largest ISP in the world in 1998. Everything you mention has been addressed on my network and WiFi. I use WiFi Explorer for every setup, home or commercial installs.

I have all 4 of my Apple TVs on Sharp Roku TVs, I just don't use the Roku portion. I have since installed YouTube and Apple TV app on the Roku side and it never hangs... not once. The bandwidth never drops, never lags and never locks up. Roku and Apple TV are both on the same WiFi located in the same spot.

Today I kept trying to watch a show on YouTube with Apple TV and it would hang and spin every 5 minutes. I hit home and opened YouTube on Roku... watched a two hour show... no issues.

I tried an Apple Movie... 20 minutes in it hung and I had to reboot. Loaded up the movie and it crashed to the Home Screen twice. Open Apple TV app on Roku and selected the same movie... watched the whole movie without any issues.

What lead me to this test was the fact, don't know why, but every time I unlock my iPhone 11 Max Pro... the Apple TV hangs for 20-30 seconds... no matter what I am watching. Even Discovery + If I open my MacBook Pro and log in... same thing. This made me wonder if it's an Apple issue and it does appear to be IMHO.

UPDATE : Various Issues, All Of Which Lead To Apple TV Being The Issue. Most Notably YouTube. Uninstalled YouTube and ReInstalled... Still Dropping Connections.

Some Weird Results Made Me Question One Aspect Of The App. Opening My MacBook Pro or iPhone Would Cause YouTube To Hang. So, I Uninstalled and ReInstalled... BUT I logged Into My Account Via The App and NOT Via YouTube Mobile. NO ISSUES.

No Longer Hangs. No Longer Freezes. No Longer Waiting 40 Seconds For A Commercial To Load, Just So I Can Skip It. No More Hang Using iPhone or MacBook Pro.

I Do Not Know The Hows Or Whys, But It Works.
