Why "resting calories" is different from "basal calories"?

We all know that in Apple Watch, total calories = active calories + resting calories.

Active calories are...simply the ones from movement, sport, activity, etc...

Resting calories are the ones you need to keep alive, even when you do nothing physical.

At the end of the day, I see that every day resting calories = (more or less) about 300 Kcal.

BUT from my understanding the resing calories should be the Basal Calories, which are also resting calories.

From Omron, my basal calories are around 1,500 Kcal per day.

So, why Omron tells me that my basal calories are 1,500Kcal, but Apple Watch adds only 300 Kcal to the total?.

(by the way, this Basal calories should be added...and the 1,500 Kcal is a good value...otherwise the recommended daily calories intake of 1,500 to 2,000 Kcal should have no meaning...)

Thanks!

I think I can answer to myself: the active calories are the calories that you spend during an activities. The resting calories are the ones spent WHEN MOVING but NOT during an actovity.

it can be seen that in TOTAL Calories hidden in the consumption graph some basal calories are added.

it is not very intuitive this nomenclature (strange in Apple), but I figure out this is what it is...

Just in case is usefull for somebody else

The Apple Watch likely uses the Harris-Benedict Equation which uses your age, height, weight and gender to calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate. The caloric figure from this equation is then added to your Active calories to get your Total Calories.

The Harris–Benedict equations

Men BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) + 5

Women BMR = (10 × weight in kg) + (6.25 × height in cm) - (5 × age in years) - 161
