McAfee Pop Up!!

Hi,

I recently installed Big Sur (yeah, right?). Then I wanted to uninstall McAfee (that came bundled from ATT). I tried the "Uninstall McAfee" software, it didn't work as it kept asking me to close all browsers before it could be uninstalled which I did. I closed all browsers (like really shut them down and not just click "close...") but still didn't work. Out of frustration, I dragged the App to trash and cleared it. Now I am stuck with the McAfee Alert that pops up frequently as well as the little icon on top bar.

Which I did already allow!

Any help? Thanks!

Hi adam_ra,

We see you're attempting to uninstall McAfee from your Mac however the uninstaller didn't work properly.

To aid us in resolving this issue, is the installer still in Finder > Applications? If so, we'd recommend shutting your Mac down, ensuring that the option to "reopen windows when logging back in" is unchecked. Then start the Mac back up. After that, try running the uninstaller again with no apps open.

If the uninstaller is gone, or the issue persists, take a look over the steps in the following articles:

Should you still be unable to fully remove it, we'd recommend reaching out to McAfee support for additional assistance.

Cheers!
