Lightning port not functioning properly

The front left lightning port on my macbook air seems to not be functioning right. I have a dongle with an external monitor and a wired keyboard attached through it. the keyboard works fine. But, the monitor no longer will work off of it. If i turn the monitor off and back on it will work for a few seconds then quit again. How can i fix this?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.2

Hi,

Try to run Apple Diagnostics if it reports something related Thunderbolt hardware errors(NDT001 to NDT006).
