WhatsApp incoming video calls do not show accept/decline and can’t be silenced

The incoming video calls from WhatsApp are so inconsistent with the general incoming call behavior. Ideally, you’d have the accept and decline options right in the banner but there’s nothing of that dirty for these. Just touching the banner will immediately accept the call. This is by far the worst unintuitive feature I’ve ever seen. I attended two calls by mistake while I was in meetings. I figured you’d have to long press to get these options but that’s so inconvenient and frustrating. What’s more frustrating is that there is no way to silence the ringer except to put the entire phone in silent mode. I’ve tried single pressing, double pressing the power, volume buttons but to no avail. I tried searching for this but no one else seems to have this problem. Is this very specific to my device or is this general? Any way to solve this?

Hi,

I too experience some issues with WhatsApp incoming calls and actually never have any way to decline the calls really or disable them in WhatsApp itself. Not sure if you are experiencing normal behaviour that WhatsApp has designed their app to do but if you could provide any screenshots as it just sounds like you are experiencing normal behaviour from the app. But I totally agree WhatsApp's design of their call interface is so inconsistent. When my phone is locked it will come in a. Notification but if it unlocked it will come up in a banner the top of the screen.
