Bad Message 400 Illegal character CNTL=0x11

Under Account Settings > Manage Payments been getting this error message all morning:


Bad Message 400

reason: Illegal character CNTL=0x11


I see a bunch of posts with similar instances of the same error message and NO resolution or cohesive responses as to what this issue is?


Anyone else get any constructive feedback as to what the problem is and how to troubleshoot?

Just to confirm, were you trying to add or change a payment method when that error appeared? If so, please make sure you're using a supported payment method. This link outlines which payment methods are available by region: Payment methods that you can use with your Apple ID


If you've confirmed that the payment method you're using is supported in your region, please ensure the payment details were entered correctly. More about viewing and managing payment methods here: Change, add, or remove Apple ID payment methods


If you're also seeing an error saying the payment method was declined, please check out this link: If your payment method is declined in the App Store or iTunes Store

Just to confirm, are you able to make purchases and payments without an issue?


If you use another payment method, do you receive the same error?
