wireless carplay and homekit garage door opener - won't work
wireless carplay and homekit garage door opener - won't work. It only works with the phone plugged in. Is there a way to get this to work? Siri says she can't find it.

Hi there michdrz,
From what we can tell, your wireless garage door opener isn't working unless it's connected to your iPhone. We're glad you've connected with us in Apple Support Communities, and we can provide some guidance.
To start, check to see if your garage door opener is a compatible Home accessory that works with HomeKit and CarPlay. To see which devices are compatible, have a look at this link:
Next, be sure you added it as a HomeKit accessory with the steps in this support article:
Add a HomeKit accessory to the Home app
Also, the links below provide more information about how to control your home with Siri and from CarPlay:
Control your home from CarPlay
If the suggestions we've provided so far don't seem to help, let us know which exact model the device is and clarify the issue a bit more for us. For example, does it work when your iPhone is physically connected to the garage door opener via a cable or adapter or is it connected via Bluetooth?
Cheers.
Thank you for your response but you missed the point. My phone isn’t supposed to be connected.. it’s WIRELESS CarPlay. It works fine if it’s connected. I’m trying to get it to work without being connected via wire to the car.
