Garage Not Responding in CarPlay

As I pull up to my house, the Siri Suggestion to open my garage door pops up on CarPlay but rather than saying “Open” or “Close” it says “Not Responding”.

The strange thing is that I can open up the home app on my phone while I’m in my car and open up the garage through the app.

Any suggestions?

I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro with iOS 14.4.2.

It shows up and works perfectly fine on the 'Home' app on my phone and Mac, and if I use Siri on my phone it will open/close without issues. I have seen/read that it would also display a button on the CarPlay home screen when I am driving and within range of my Home - however it doesn't appear to be doing this. I am running an iPhone XS on 15.3, my HomePod mini hub is on the latest 15.3 OS as well. I have configured the garage door in Home to have all notifications on, I have turned Siri Suggestions on in CarPlay and also on my phone for the Home app. Location Services is turned On for my iPhone as well and shared/On for Home app. I'm not sure what else there is?

CarPlay not showing up in settings I can not find the CarPlay settings anywhere in my iPhone 11pro running iOS 16.0.2 I have checked the restrictions (there are none) and I even tried to see if I could add a restriction for CarPlay bit it is not even listed as a possible restriction. I have tried turning off the iPhone, I have checked that Siri is on, etc. (Just got a car with CarPlay...)

How do I setup CarPlay using my Apple iPhone? I use my Apple iPhone 8+ to navigate everywhere I go. I drive a 2021 Nissan Rogue that has Apple CarPlay. When I first purchased the car, the dealer helped me setup CarPlay. It worked great, for years. I use an apple USB to connect my phone to the car. it stopped working. Now, I have my phone setup to navigate on Google maps. However, when I crank my car and navigate using my phone, it connects to speak the directions, but won’t show the map in the car screen anymore. The voice is so loud in the speaker that it hurts my ears, when speaking, and I cannot turn it down. please tell me how to correctly setup Apple CarPlay using my iPhone. Help?

We're glad you thought to ask Apple Support Communities about the issue you're having with opening your garage door using Siri Suggestion in CarPlay. See if the following steps help:

Be sure that your devices are updated
Restart your modem and router
Delete the accessory and set it up again: Add a HomeKit accessory to the Home app
