iPhone iOS 14.4 music search broken, but not when airplane mode is on.

Hello, I am not an apple music subscriber. I have my music backed up and stored locally to my phone and they are not iTunes purchases. Ever since I upgraded to iOS 14.4 on my 12 Pro 256gb, it seems to check with apple before loading any album from search.

If I tap the album from Albums there is no issue, but if I use Search when I tap it takes 3 or 4 seconds verifying and then loads the album. If I turn on airplane mode and use search it loads instantly perfectly fine.

This also happens if I tap the album name while a song is playing. It did not happen in 14.3.

Turning cellular data off for music would be the fix if it weren't for the fact that then a pop up appears every so often when I use the music app saying it needs access to cellular data.

Are you experiencing this issue?

Hello Jacob (Jakx102),

It sounds like you're experiencing a delay when searching in the Music app, is that right? We'd like to see how we can help.

Are you using these steps to search the Music app? Search for music on iPhone

Does the issue also happen when your device is connected to Wi-Fi? If so, do you experience issues with slow performance when you try to use other apps, or does this only happen in the Music app?

If you experience slow performance at other times as well, please check out this page: About iOS performance on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Thanks!
