Voice distortion on car play

Hello Community,

I just had an Alpine iLX-F259 installed in my car and in regards to apple CarPlay everything is working normally except when making and receiving phone calls. When making calls the person i'm speaking with sounds really deep and slowed down; while to them I sound extremely high pitched. I'm using the only USB port in my car and using a standard apple usb to lightning cable. Also when making calls through the bluetooth of the Alpine calls sounds fine. So, it's been isolated to carplay. Anyone else experience this issue or have a fix? Any info would be EXTREMELY helpful.
