How can I stop this Apple pop-up from interrupting me continuously?

Every time I write anything at any app on my iPhone 8 with 14.2, the pop-up box wanting me to enable dictation, whatever that means, shown in the photo here stops me from writing until I click "Not Now", then it goes away so I can resume writing.

Then about every fifteen minutes or so, it's back, interrupting my concentration again and it's become extremely annoying.

This didn't happened until after the update to 14.2. Whether it's related to that upgrade or is it a virus of some kind I have no idea. I'm here to find out if anyone can explain it and more importantly, how in the heck can I stop it permanently?

Thanks very much,

Stewart

Hi RocknRowBoat,

Thanks for reaching out to us here in Apple Support Communities! We understand that you're being prompted to enable dictation on your iPhone, and we'd like to help. To clarify, does this happen in the Messages app? If so, is it possible that you may be tapping on the microphone in the lower right corner of the keyboard, and activating dictation?

Here's how to test it:

Use Dictation on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Please let us know what you find, and we'll work from there.

Have a great day!
