Apple Watch affecting my iPhone's bluetooth connection with my car

Good morning! I recently got an Apple Watch SE. Before I started using it, when I got in my car my phone would automatically connect to my car's system via Bluetooth and be able to play music without me doing anything. After I started using the watch, the automatic connection no longer happens. When I go into the bluetooth settings on my phone, it shows that the car is connected. When I tap on the car where it says 'Connected' the phone connects and then I can start hearing audio. Any ideas on how to make the connection seamless to where I don't have to go in and tap on the car in bluetooth settings everytime I get in my car?

I have a 2016 toyota 4runner, iPhone XS Max, Apple Watch SE. The name of the bluetooth device for my car is CarAccessorySystem.

Thanks in advance

Right, but I figured the addition of the watch affected the connection somehow since it worked fine before and stopped working after I started using the watch.

I'm of the mind that it would be the accessories issue.

Else that would be a problem all over for everyone.

And this is the first mention of this that I've seen on these forums.

What I would try is to unpair your car accessory from your iPhone

Reboot your phone and watch

Then pair your accessory back to your iPhone.

Sometimes a fresh connection helps.
