Preview on MacBook

Whenever I try to edit a pdf in preview (add a note or annotate by adding text to it), I get an error message saying that the file could not be saved because it is being changed by another application. I have been using one drive as my file storage for the past three years and have never had this issue, until recently. Any suggestions on how to save my altered pdfs without this error every time would be much appreciated!

The premise of One Drive was to manage Microsoft documents, though clearly, users are using it for other file formats. If Microsoft has made changes to One Drive, you may not be able to do what you did with Preview and One Drive in the past.

Open a PDF located on your Desktop with Preview. Do the same annotation workflow you would do if the PDF were stored on One Drive. Then save it locally. If it works fine, then the issue is with One Drive, and you will need to inquire with Microsoft what they have done to now impact your workflow there.
