MacBook Pro won’t start up, goes to black and powers down. Logo and progress bar appears first then black

MacBook Pro won’t start up, goes to black and powers down. Logo and progress bar appears first then black. Have tried holding down shift on startup. Also have tried holding down “D” key on startup and recovering- get an error message. Next step Apple support call I guess, but wondered if I am alone on this?

Connect to a power outlet on startup, I suspect a glitch concerning battery management in the latest round of OS11.2 updates. If your battery level falls below say 60%, the management system appears to shut down the initial power up process. Mine sometimes even indicates that the battery needs charging when I know it's at 50+%!

My Macbook Pro is the 2018 15'' model and I've yet to try just leaving on standby overnight - not powering down the computer.

Hope you have success!😎
