Battery percentage stuck at 99

My battery percentage is stuck at 99% and it completes its battery time like 7-8 hrs. Starts dropping suddenly after 8hrs from 99 to 78 and then turns off and wont turn on until connected to power and then starts charging from 0 to 99 and the whole process repeats. Please anyone help me with this!
