I saw on YouTube you can connect a Xbox one controller to an IPAD and play Call of Duty Mobile on it. However I’ve bought the controller witch has Bluetooth. It connects to the IPAD but when I open the app on the tablet it doesn’t recognize the controller and so doesn’t work. Does anybody have a trick to make it work.

Have you confirmed the controller you're using is compatible with your device? It looks like you've also viewed the correct support article Connect a wireless game controller to your Apple device.
If you find your model controller is listed, try disconnecting it from your iPad by going to Settings > Bluetooth > Controller > tap the i and select Forget this Device. Once completed, restart the iPad and reconnect.

Ios 14.5 will release with updates including controller support for Xbox series x controllers, and PS5 dual sense controllers. This update will release in February but an exact date is not clear.
The controller is connected with Bluetooth to my IPAD, however it won’t connect to games?
