Fire Cube TV remote menu button doesn’t work in Apple TV+

Started watching Losing Alice on Apple TV+

My system uses a Fire TV Cube and Cube remote. Tried to use menu button on Cube remote (upper right button with three horizontal lines) to bring up menu but it does not bring up a menu. How do I get the Cube remote to activate menu function inApple TV+

Use the Back button to go back to the Apple TV app home screen. The menu is the tabs at the top of the screen.

Subtitles (and dubbed audio) can be changed during playback, as follows:

Control what’s playing in the Apple TV app - Apple TV app user guide - Apple Support

Turn on subtitles and closed captioning (if available)
During playback, press the down button on the smart TV or device remote to show the Subtitles pane, then select an option.

Choose an audio language (if available)
During playback, press the down button on the smart TV or device remote to show the Subtitles and Audio panes, select Audio, then select an option.

Well I didn’t think I’d have to back out of the movie since the Cube remote should bring up a settings menu in the Apple+ app

I’m trying to watch “Losing Alice” in the Apple app. It’s in Hebrew and I expected it to automatically stream with English subtitles. It does not. On, say, Hulu app, I can press the Cube remote menu button and hit a subtitle toggle switch right within the Hulu app while my show is on. The remote menu button does not bring up the settings menu in the Apple app though.

if I back out of the movie and go to Apple app menu I can check the Styles of CC but find no place to actually Turn Them On!

I have to back completely out to the Amazon Fire Cube menu and turn on CC there, which of course puts subtitles on all content of all streaming apps, when all I Really want is to get subtitles on the one foreign film I’m watching on Apple+ !!!
