FINAL CUT PRO IPHONE 12 FOOTAGE BRIGHTNESS

when i import video footage from my iphone 12 pro max into final cut pro on my macbook air the footage is way too bright, i’ve tried adding the HRD effects tool and it makes it too dark. been on with apple support today for over 2 hours and they were no help at all and are ringing me back in 5 days? i need this clip edited by the end of today.

please see attached how the video appears in my finder vs how it appears in final cut pro

Did you try this:


Select the clip

On the window on the right with the select the 'i' with the circle around it for info

Click "Color Space Override" and select "Rec. 2020"


See if that works. I saw a Youtube that recommended that.
