Macbook Pro scratchpad is erratic sometimes

The apple suggestions about jewelry, power supply, peripherals etc are irrelevant: One day it works, the next day with no changes, it doesn't work. Without cursor control, I must use the power switch to reboot, which does work. Upon reboot, scratch pad works perfectly for some amount of time that's like "several days" and then fails in the same way: I wake the laptop, enter my password, attempt to move the cursor to my work ... and it is first erratic then non-responsive.

Macbook Pro - Trackpad stuck issue, related to battery? My trackpad sometimes gets stuck physically - it doesn't make click sound anymore and it's not responsive at all. After some time (it could be hours, days or weeks) it randomly starts working again. I've noticed that every time I turn off my Mac the trackpad also becomes stuck physically so I wonder if this has anything to do with battery perhaps? My Mac is only 2 years old - is it possible that battery has swollen?

MacBook Pro trackpad suddenly not working Hi all, have looked around at other posts online to fix this but haven’t had any luck yet. I have a 13” MacBook Pro Retina, 2015 model I think. Yesterday when I opened it from sleep the system seemed very slow and unresponsive, the cursor moved about very slowly and jaggedly. I restarted and then the trackpad became totally unresponsive. The keyboard is totally fine and works ok. Unfortunately I don't have an external mouse to use to going through settings is a little clunky. Doesn't look like the battery has swelled from what I can see from the outside. Any help very very much appreciated! Matt

Latest macOS uodate bricked trackpad After updating to latest macOS version (Ventura 13.5.2) on my 14" 2021 Base Model MBP, my trackpad registers/spams multiple clicks just when moving the cursor around. I did not experience this issue whatsoever prior to this update. Apple diagnostics do not indicate any issue with trackpad. I have already restored and the os using a time machine backup. The issue is isolated to the built in trackpad, as an external magic trackpad works just fine. Disk utility first aid across all drives also did not resolve issue. I have disabled and renabled haptic feedback which didn't resolve it. The issue is not 100% constant, as it has flashes of working for maybe a couple of minutes and then goes back to constantly clicking when my finger is on the pad.
