Hi,
my power supply fried due to a power surge ?
my Macbook's battery is now flat (cannot check the system preferences ) .
I am not quite sure what the wattage of my power supply is/was ?
it is a late 2019 macbook pro .
Anyone ?

Sorry, but whoever you spoke with gave you incorrect advice. See the link above. The 87 W adapter is for a 15" MacBook Pro. The 16" MacBook Pro (I have two of them) ships with and requires a 96 W adapter.
