I have a MacBook Air model A1466 and it’s been sitting idle for about a year. I forgot my password and not sure of the login information. What do I do to get this back to the factory setting, so I can start all over?

i gave a MacBook Air, model# A1466. I bought it and it’s been idle for quite sometime. So, because it’s been so long; I don’t know what my password is. I have followed directions through google search on how to reset password and nothing is working.

I want to start using this laptop and need help.
