Facetime Camera not working

Facetime suddenly stopped using my camera. People can hear me. I see and hear them. My camera is working as I can see me in the box and it works in Zoom. Software updates are up to date. Went into Camera settings/security and it doesn't even list Facetime for apps that can use camera. No way to add Facetime. Camera used to work on FT but now doesn't. What to do?

We can help keep looking into this with you, DAB987,

First, complete the following resets. These do not impact data.

Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac - Apple Support

Then, create a test administrator account and test FaceTime.

Let us know the results of FaceTime! Thanks!

Same thing happens with my MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro camera works fine in other applications (Zoom, Teams, etc.) but if I try using FaceTime, the camera image doesn't show my face to the person I'm talking to. Although, I can see my own face. If I completely reboot the MacBook, and immediately use FaceTime, the camera works.

Thank you for responding. I did that more than once and still no luck. My son who lives elsewhere has experienced the same thing when trying to Facetime with a friend. I think Apple has messed aomething up with a recent change in software sometime in Feb 21. This is apparently not my computer or

my son’s but a bigger issue in the software

I am having the same problem. I tried this solution but it didn't work. The screenshots show what it looks like on on my end. The other person can hear but not see me and I can hear and see them. FaceTime works fine on my phone but not on my new MacBook Air (M1, 2020, Big Sur 11.2.3). The MacBook Air camera works fine for all other applications.

Hello DAB987,

We understand that people are unable to see you when using FaceTime, though the camera appears to be working as expected. We'd recommend first testing things in safe mode:
