Built-in FaceTime camera suddenly not recognised

The FaceTime camera was working perfectly and suddenly one fine morning I started getting "no camera connected" message.

facetime camera stopped working I went through all of the steps that support.apple.com gave me, including resetting the SMC, but it still doesn't work. I had a meeting that ended at 5, no problem. Tried again at 8 and 'no camera installed'

FaceTime camera is grey? I don’t know why but when I FaceTime someone sometimes my own camera ( the one showing my face) will turn grey. I can still hear and see the other person but they can’t see me they only see a grey screen. They can still hear me. I have to end the call and then recall but sometimes I have to recall like 5 times to get the camera to start working again. I don’t know why this happens and I don’t know how to fix it.
