iOS Mail App Suddenly Not Receiving AOL Mail

This was answered in another thread, but the gist is that AOL is now requiring users to generate App Passwords.

1. Sign in and go to the AOL Account security page.
2. Click Generate app password or Manage app passwords.
3. Select your app from the drop down menu and click Generate.
4. Follow the instructions below the password.
   1. Be sure to enter the password into your app without any spaces.
5. Click Done.
6. Use this app password and your email address to sign in to your email app.

I have four accounts on my iPhone/iPad in the email has stopped being pushed several times over the last couple weeks I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it continues to happen it’s very frustrating any tips?

The problem is AoL, arguably the worst email provider in history, now partnered with the likes of Verizon et al.

If you have the account set up for push and it doesn’t then get back to AoL or

visit https://help.aol.com/articles/how-do-i-use-other-email-applications-to-send-and-receive-my-aol-mail

I did not delete my AOL account.

I just followed these steps

Settings- Mail--Accounts- Add Accounts You will see iCloud, Microsoft

Exchange Google Yahoo AOL. etc choose AOL then sign in with your

username and password .

I did not loose any folders. I did not have any flagged messages.

If you have a POP account you would lose folders, IMAP would be OK

I had not been receiving my emails on AOL since April 11, 2021. I tried several steps from Google search but did not work so finally

I went to (I have iPhone SE) Settings- Mail--Accounts- Add Accounts You will see iCloud, Microsoft Exchange Google Yahoo AOL. etc choose AOL then sign in with your username and password and that for me did the trick. Took about an hour to fiddle around. Hopefully this helps someone.

I had AOL account and emails dated April 11, 2021 but had stopped loading since then. Anyway I am just glad I am receiving it now.These steps I followed were just happenstance. I cannot explain it nor do I have any deep knowledge of the workings of AOL or iPhone

I have the iPhone 11 and realised the same issue yesterday. I deleted the app then re-installed it which seems to have fixed it.

What App did your AOL-account run on? iPhone-mail?

I use the generic Mail app that you get with iPhone

AOL are changing platforms and URLs.

eg from .com to .co.uk

There has been a rash of AOL problems on the forum .

Check AOL support in your country.

And you uninstalled and reinstalled it to make it work again?

Standard practice on iPhone, PC, Mac and Android.

Remove the account and add it back. The app only if necessary.
