Filter failed

I keep getting a filter failed message when trying to print using my Canon Pixma MP490. Canon has no driver for Catalina but until I erased and reset my computer yesterday to resolve more urgent issues, I never had trouble with the printer/scanner. Have tried everything I can think of. Please help.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.15

We see you're having some issues printing from your Mac. We can certainly understand needing to get that resolved, and we'd happy to help out.



We'd recommend trying out the steps from this page: Solve printing problems on Mac


If that doesn't help, try using the steps here to reset the Mac's printing system: Reset the Mac printing system to solve a problem


If it persists after that, you may wish to also try reaching out to Canon for additional assistance with the printer.
