PS4 controller and iPhone 12 not pairing

I just upgraded my phone from the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 12 Pro Max, and have been struggling getting my ps4 controller connected to my new phone. I retried connected to my iPhone 11 and it still works perfectly, it just doesn’t seem to working the the new one.

I keep getting the connection unsuccessful makes sure device is on and in range.

If anyone has any tips to fix this that would be great.
