New iPhone won't complete set-up

I've got a new iPhone 11 and have been trying to complete the transfer from an old iPhone 8

The transfer / setup was aborted (by me) after more than 18 hours

In iCloud I can see the new phone but I cannot access anything so am stuck in a failed update loop/

I cannot get past an iOS update that fails or hangs because of (apparently) WiFi connection but my old iPhone and laptop are using the same WiFi without problem and the new iPhone has a WiFi symbol on it

I cannot access settings to see whats going on, to delete or change any settings so I'm stuck. Any help very gratefully received!

Congratulations on your new iPhone 11! It looks like when you tried to transfer your data and set up your new iPhone the process did not complete and now you are in a loop and unable to complete the iOS update and use your device. Being able to have your data and also use your new iPhone is essential. We're glad you reached out for help.


Are you restoring from an iCloud backup or using another method to transfer your data? Take a look at the link below if your iPhone will not complete the update process to allow you to transfer your data.


If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch won't update


If you still have issues with updating and completing the set up try the steps below to restore your iPhone.


If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch


Should you continue to have issues additional information about the update you're trying to install and the method of transferring data would be helpful.
