iOS 14 update buttons suddenly missing

I’ve had the same problem. Each app on the updates list showed only “more...” and no update button.

Had to click on individual app name for the app details to open up which then had the update button.

I tried GRBForhim’s tips and it worked:

• I went to App Store settings
• Under the “Automatic Downloads” I just toggled “App Updates” on and then back to off. (My default setting is normally set to ‘off”)
• When I went back to the App Store updates list, all the apps displayed the updates button again.

Note: initially tried shutting off my iPhone and restarted a few times-did nothing at all.

The issue appears to be on the iPhone only. My iPad Pro did not have the issue.

I have the same exact issue and it started today (wasn’t there a day ago). I usually manually review all updates and apply them as I see fit. However, a few minutes ago I went to do that and all the UPDATE/OPEN buttons are missing just as shown by LUKATIBO.

I can the the UPDATE or OPEN button (if app has already been updated) by going into the specific app tab/landing site. However, in the main list view they are gone.

I still have the UPDATE ALL at top of the list of updates, and also just like LUKATIBO, I still show the OPEN button in the main list for the apps that were updated on the day prior.

I too have restarted, force restarted, and signed off and back on on the APP STORE, but to no avail.

Mb the buttons will show up for the next app updates, and these will have the button missing just like the ones updated earlier still showed the OPEN button.

I will update hopefully by tomorrow if and when there are new updates.

changed nothing back into App Update screen and all fixed!!

maybe the settings page did something, maybe it was coincidence???

This didn't work for me the first time. The second time I went in and turned off and on the App Updates selection. After that, 1 of the 3 items I have listed that need updating in the App Store states "Update" (the one at the top). I'll see if this fixed things as other updates get added.

A 4th update was added to my list and it removed the one "Update" button. I repeated the steps above and now "Update" only shows with the update at the top of the list again (top one with "Update" button and following 3 with nothing).

Just FYI, I had tried the suggested solution and I toggled ALL the sliders in the APP STORE under SETTINGS and that did nothing.

now I tried going into the APP STORE and checking for updates and 6 new updates showed up and ALL have the UPDATE BUTTON.

The only thing I see different is that I was doing that earlier at home with Wifi and now I’m about town on 5G.

So maybe tied to Wifi somehow? Something to try and see if it has anything to do with it, or was just coincidental and the toggles took some time to respond.

I have the same problem. Tomorrow iI open the appstore because I had 2 notification in badget for update but the buttons were gone

I have same issue too. I'm thinking it is some setting on Apple's end since we all have the same issue occur at the same time.

Update button now suddenly appeared on all updates now. Apple must of done something on their end.

I had the issue but have been on WIFI all the time.
