macOS

i am certain of what I changed my password yoo however it is not accepting it. I can’t restart my MacBook unless I have my firmware password. I have read that I need to take it to the nearest apple store which is a 4 hour drive away as I do not have one in my town. Is there anyway I can get back into my laptop without having to use the firmware password, I know my login password. Everytime I turn on my laptop it opens up with macOS utilities. And it getting really frustrating as I have tried several things to get back into it.
