I can't see the other person on FaceTime calls

Why can't I see the person on FaceTime calls? they can see me and we can hear each other but I can't see them.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We can understand why you’d want to resolve the issue with being unable to see the other person on a FaceTime call. 


Were you able to follow all of the troubleshooting steps for "If your camera or microphone doesn’t work" in the If FaceTime isn't working on your Mac viewed article? What happened after following those steps?


Which macOS are you using? Be sure to restart your device and test to see if the issue continues.

Log out, sleep, wake, restart, or shut down your Mac 


Does this happen with all contacts or just some? Also, has FaceTime ever worked before?
