Big Sur and Brother QL 500 Label Printer

I know my sturdy QL 500 is a few years old but up until the other day, it worked faultlessly with my near new MacBook Pro - I upgraded to Big Sur and I find that it no longer compatible with the version of P-Touch Editor that is available from the App Store. The old version 5.1.111 shouts down when trying to print - any news of additional support for older label printers??
