Parental Controls: How to block YouTube videos embedded on DuckDuckGo

My 12-year-old wastes time watching YouTube videos through DuckDuckGo. In Screen Time→Content & Privacy→Web Content I have already checked “Limit Adult Websites” and added youtube.com to what essentially is a blacklist by clicking on the “Customize” button. Is there anything else I need to do, to prevent him from watching embedded YouTube videos?

Hello D. Hoffmann,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! We understand you have some questions regarding Screen Time restrictions on a device. We are happy to help provide some guidance.

It looks like you're using a Mac and have done the correct steps to establish restrictions using Screen Time. You can see a full breakdown of the restrictions you can add here:

Set up parental controls on Mac

In addition to that restriction that you set, you can also set up the Downtime feature on the device through Screen Time to limit usage of apps after a certain time of day. You can read more about using Downtime here:

Use Screen Time on your Mac

We hope this information helps.

Best Regards.
