Apple watch Battery drain after 7.3.1 update
After update of my series 5 apple watch, I see that the battery drains considerably faster.

After any IOS or OS update I find that a few forced restarts both your iPhone and your watch are needed.
First try force restarting your iPhone by whatever method your version calls for. As soon as you see the Apple logo force restart your watch by holding in the crown and side button for 10 seconds till you see the Apple logo then release. Log into your iPhone and wait for your watch to boot, then log into it.
Failing that I'd try unpairing the watch from your iPhone then pairing it back setting it up as new.
Mine too, apple watch 5 and only 6 months old.... Major battery drain since the last update. I am on 7.3.3. at the moment.... went hiking several weeks ago (do not remember the software version then) .... over 9 hours of hiking apple workout app.
last week (after update) only 5 hours and some minutes, same route, so watch died practically that workout and it went into 10% power reserve....
so after reading all possible advices: unpair, reinstall (new install not from back up)...no other app installed... disable wi-fi disable bluetooth etc. all possible other tweaks that it didnt need several weeks ago...today after 5 hours only 15 % left....guys, thats a serious software glitch, really disappointed.... if it continues that way I will switch to garmin....
Everytime I post the a possible solution, Apple delete my message. So therefore I'm trying it once again and trying to be cryptic.
Try to update to 7.4 b
It's a temporary solution because the version is not official yet. But it seems that they haven't implemented that bug yet or fix it already. However, with 7.4 the watch gets the one-day battery life back.
Exactly the same here. Started happening this week (late Apr ‘21) and has occurred three times. Two of them were on runs and happened at almost exactly the same location, about 20 minutes in.
Doesn’t help solve the problem but should be reassuring for all that “it’s not just me!”
For what it's worth, the unpair-reset-restore approach did not work for me. I contacted Apple Support via chat and was advised to upgrade to OS 7.4. I did that and the problem has not yet recurred. Since the previous failures were so incredibly similar and I've recreated those conditions twice, I'm encouraged. It may not stay fixed but so far, so good.
Same here with my S5. About a year old, running 7.4.1 and I was getting about 30 hours charge out of it before 7.4, then boom...maybe 6 hours with no change to the set up of the watch. Tried all the recommended fixes with no luck. Is the S7 release imminent and Apple is trying to push us to upgrade? There are a lot of reports of thi. I hope they're working on a fix.
Completely unhelpful. Battery drain was just fine before OS update to 7.4.1...after which the excessive battery drain started. Dropping by > 25% within an hour. What the heck is wrong with your OS updates Apple?
Seems like the latest Apple Watch update has caused my series 4 watch to overheat during the recharging process. While it’s hot the watch will not operate. This never occurred prior to this latest update.
So I’ve never had an issue with my series 5 watch I have updated it and nothing has changed on how I use it and the battery doesn’t even last a day . Before update I use to get at least 3 days on 1 charge . Not happy is an understatement
Guys please report the issue. Hopefully the more that report it the better chances it will get checked.

I have same issue with my Series 5 watch. Way more faster than before. I want to roll back to 7.3.
You can't roll back.
I know.
No it is the same on mine. Any fixes?
Restarted phone and watch. Will check and hope I can exercise an hour or autosleep enough for watch to be useful!
