Quicktime audio on Macbook pro

Audio is garbled on Quicktime recordings on Macbook Pro.

I have tried setting audio to Max quality without success.

I need to record my piano pieces for a grade online exam.

The audio is too bad to submit to the College examiners.

Greetings Videoplan123,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities! It seems audio isn't clear when listening to playback of a QuickTime recording you've created on your Mac.

  • Are you using the built-in microphone from your Mac to record audio?
  • Have you had a chance to use a different microphone?

Check if your Mac model has the option under the input settings to use ambient noise reduction:

Change your sound input settings - Apple Support

"To capture less background noise when using your computer’s built-in microphone, select “Use ambient noise reduction.” This option is not available if a 4-channel built-in microphone format is selected in Audio MIDI Setup."

Kind regards.
