AirPods Max with Xbox Series X?

Is there any way to connect the AirPods Max with the Xbox Series X? I don't mind losing the mic, I only care about the audio, I've got the official 3.5 mm adapted and I've plugged it to the jack in the Elite controller, but I don't get any audio, even after purchasing the DTS and Dolby licenses, even connecting the controller via the charge kit.

AirPods Pro Spatial Audio not working I cannot get Spatial Audio to work on my first generation AirPods Pro, please help.
