After Mojave Install App Store apps not Updating

I updated my OS to 10.14.6 yesterday and was thereby introduced to the new version of the App Store. It shows 3 applications on my MacBook Pro that have updates. I have tried downloading these individually, and with the "Update All" button, but the "3" updates badge remains on the App Store icon. If I close the App Store and open it again, the apps are gone as if they've downloaded and installed, but the "3" badge remains. When I Reboot the computer and open the App Store again, they're back, and do not seem to have installed at all. I've rebooted a few times now. The same 3 apps are always there for updating.

Temporary Workaround...I've confirmed it works, but don't give me any credit...I didn't discover it :-)

While running App Store go to Activity Monitor app and force quit appstoreagent process.

Starting download/update again everything works as expected, but only until one quits App Store.

Upon relaunch, the problem appears again.

FWIW, I'm seeing the same issue in a Mojave install, after the security update.

I dont think the last secirity update did this because I had this problem before the last security date I just did the update this morning to see if it would fix it.

Can you go into your MAS and tap on your user name to pull up previous purchases?

Once there, do they have the "open" buttons or "cloud" buttons?

All I can tell you is that after a Security and Safari update combo this morning, the 3 updates no longer appear as a badge on the App Store, nor appear in the "Updates" window within the App Store.

Late 2013 27 iMac, my app store still says i have 4 updates but when i try to update it just spins and never does anything

I have several apps that will not work in Catalina so for now I need to stay on Mojave but I will not be buying anymore apps on the app store.

After SU-002, App Store on Mojave is borked on my MP5,1 as well. Cannot download new apps, or update existing ones. Very frustrating!

Great! Not perfect but at least i've been able to install my missing app as my main machine is currently at Apple repair center.
