Apple watch not updating

i have an apple watch series 2, everything ive searched says that it can get the WatchOs 6 software update. My phone (xr) is updating to 14.4.. but my watch wont update past 4.3.2.

okay, i just looked at the model through the watch app. it turns out it is the First Generation. i thought it was a series two 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

That sounds very much like you have an Apple Watch first generation (before the Series 1). As far as I know, that is the only Apple Watch that can not be upgraded past 4.3.2
