I recently purchased additional storage for my iPhone 6s Plus. My phone does not indicate this additional storage and I keep getting the pop up message that my phone is out of space. Did I do something wrong? What should I do?

You purchased iCloud storage, not phone storage. It is not possible to increase the storage on your phone.
