Epson Perfection V700 Photo Scanner

After updating my Mac OS to Big Sur 11.2.1, my Epson scanner doesn't work. I downloaded the latest drivers from the Epson website but it still doesn't work. Is anyone else having this issue and found a solution? Thank you!

If you downloaded and installed the Jan 2021 Epson ICA Scanner Driver v5.8.9, that should enable it for Apple's Image Capture. No other Epson downloads dating from Oct 2020 would be compatible with Big Sur, as it was not released until well into Nov.

In System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, right-click on the scanner entry and select Reset printing system… When you re-add the device, select the newly installed v700 ICA support. If there are any other controls on that Printers & Scanners panel, pay attention to them. At this point, you should be able to launch Apple's Image Capture and it should recognize the V700.

If this does not work, then your fall-back option is to trial VueScan Professional (as Epson suggests) as it can drive this scanner without any Epson software or drivers installed.

This is Canada Epson site specific to Perfection V700 Special Notation on their site

" Attention macOS 10.15 Catalina customers: You’ll need to install the Epson Scan 2 driver below; however, this updated Epson Scan 2 version does not include Digital ICE.

If you use Digital ICE for Dust and Scratch removal, LaserSoft Imaging (SilverFast driver) and Hamrick (VueScan driver) offer a similar solution. Please click the links below for information on obtaining the driver. "

Thanks so much for your reply. I downloaded the driver you advised and I restarted my computer and scanner and I still don't see my scanner in Printers and Scanners or in Scanner Settings. Everything is plugged in and it is connected to a surge protector, does that make a difference? Do I need to add my scanner again in Printers and Scanners, and if so, how do I do that? I see the icon in my sidebar but when I click on it to launch, the window shows no scanner. Images attached of what shows in Scanner Settings and Printers and Scanners. Thank you again! -Bridget
