App Store 1st time use

I am setting up my new iphone12. Trying to add apps from the App Store and it allows me to add up to the point where it asks me to ‘tap review’ to validate. The next screen that comes up says- you need to enter your Apple ID and password to continue- but there is only 1 line to enter the info. I’ve entered Apple ID/ I’ve entered my password /and I’ve added both together as there is only one line to enter. All I keep getting is failed.
