Macbook Air Trade In

Seems I will only have 14 days to return the old computer i'm trading in, but won't receive the new computer i just purchased for 30 days. I can't live without a computer for 14 days AND I need to make sure that everything on the old computer transfers to the new computer. Does Apple give you 14 days from the date you receive the new computer?

Can I wait till I receive my new computer, transfer data, then return it? I placed an order in December for the new 2020 MacBook Air with a trade-in of my old 2018 MacBook Air. The estimated time of delivery won't be until early February. I recently received the box for my to ship back to Apple to complete the trade-in. My question is: can I hang onto my old MacBook until the new MacBook arrives, transfer all data from the old MacBook to the new one, then send it back once I know the files transferred successfully from the old MacBook to the new MacBook Air?

Yes, it is 14 days from receipt of the new one.
