Cant download photos from Iphone to PC

This has been an incredibly frustrating experience for me. It seems like downloading photos from your phone to computer wouldn't be difficult in 2021. I have tried everything. I used USB on multiple different computers and downloading them from the DCIM folders always produced a number of corrupt files and the downloads inevitably failed. I have 17000+ photos. I also tried using windows photos application on multiple computers with windows 7 and windows 10, neither was able to download the photos. I finally bought Icloud space in the hopes that I could download them from the cloud, only to find that I could only download 1000 at a time. I tried downloading icloud for windows and the only options are to upload photos from your computer or share photos. It seems so simple. I just want to get photos from my phone to my computer so I can edit them, print them, etc. Please help!!!!!!!

Hi there Flightstar11,

Importing photos is certainly important, and we'd like to help. As we understand it, you've been running into some issues importing photos directly to a computer, correct?

To clarify, what happened when you tried using Windows Photos? If you get an error message, what does it say?

Are you using these exact steps? Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

"Import to your PC

You can import photos to your PC by connecting your device to your computer and using the Windows Photos app:

  1. Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes on your PC. Importing photos to your PC requires iTunes 12.5.1 or later.
  2. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your PC with a USB cable.
  3. If asked, unlock your iOS device using your passcode.
  4. If you see a prompt on your iOS device asking you to Trust This Computer, tap Trust or Allow to continue.

Then, visit Microsoft's website to learn how to import photos to the Windows Photos app in Windows 10.

If you have iCloud Photos turned on, you need to download the original, full resolution versions of your photos to your iPhone before you import to your PC. Find out how.

When you import videos from your iOS device to your PC, some might be rotated incorrectly in the Windows Photos app. You can add these videos to iTunes to play them in the correct orientation."

If you find the steps above don't work for you, depending on exactly what happens, the steps in this link may be a good next step: If you can't import photos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer

Let us know how it goes, and have a good day.
