iCloud is deleting most of my contacts everyday

First update your iPhone https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204204

Take a back up of your precious data https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203977

Then restore the iPhone to factory settings https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT201252

Once again set up new iPhone https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT202033

And then sign in with same Apple ID and password to set up iCloud https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT208681

Turn on iCloud features https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207689

if all iCloud features are always turned as on and after that you erase the iPhone , the data is always saved on the iCloud server it will sync when phone is set up .

But the wiser way is take back up of the data as it should not be lost .

Ok, I'll bite. These are the steps I'm following.

1. Signed out of iCloud
2. Rebooted phone
3. Restored phone to factory settings
4. Once to Home Screen I head to settings where I log into iCloud

Now I'll wait and see. I just restored the contacts before I wiped the phone so everything is looking good right now.

Did you find a fix?

I have restored my contacts via www.icloud.com only to have them then be duplicated so I go to my computer and merge the duplicates. Then they disappear again!

This has happened 5 times so far.

iOS 14.4

Big Sur 11.2.1

iPhone 12 Pro Max

MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018)

Happens to me everyday also. I called support and they just said "that's really strange" but could not offer any potential solutions except going back to original setting might work or maybe it will get fixed at the next update....

Thank you for responding. We aren't the only ones but my other replies have remained unanswered. It is such a bizarre thing. I'm just waiting for my contacts to disappear today.

Good step it might work , not sure as if some issues are in iPhone the data will delete when it is exceeding the designated iCloud storage or the iPhone itself is corrupted .
