How do I take a high quality screenshot?

I've been taking screenshots for animating, but it turned out to all be pixelated once i do. I haven't been cropping the image at all and still found that the pixels are easy to notice- I've also read something about going to "messages" then turning off "send low quality images", but it just ended up not being the case. is there any other way i can fix this?
