imessage disconnected while in korea

I am currently in Korea. I tried to install a Korean esim, didn't realize I was supposed to remove my US sim first. I ended up removing the eSim bc the two would not work together. Once it was removed my iMessage and FaceTime were disconnected and can't reconnect.

I've tried turning them off and restarting the phone. They just keep scrolling saying 'waiting for activation'. I can't get apple support in English here. Any ideas?
