Hello Sue2028,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. It looks like you're having some issues accessing email from your iPad. Email is definitely important, and we'd like to start by getting a few details about what's happening in order to see how we can help out.
First, does this happen with mail from one specific sender, or just one sender? If it's only affecting mail from one sender, they may need to check into how they are formatting or sending email.
On the other hand, if it happens with more than one sender, try restarting your iPad and test again; does that make a difference? Restart your iPad
If that doesn't help, try logging into your mail account using a web browser on a computer and look for one of the affected emails. Are you able to open it from your computer? Knowing this would help in further narrowing the issue down.
Take care.

Hi Sue2028,
Thanks for replying. As a test, from a web browser on a computer, try sending an email and BCC yourself, and then try to open it on the iPad. Does it open then, or do you see the message about formatting? Knowing how it works from a web browser will be a good way to rule out a few causes on the iPad end.
Best wishes.
This happens when I send an email and I always bcc it to myself, but I get the above message I posted so cannot read what I have written. Apparently the recipient can read my email ok
