My macbook pro sounds an alert chime & I cannot find which app is causing it

There is an alert chime that goes off all day and I cannot find what is causing it. I turned on Do Not Disturb, turned off all sound notifications in the notifications menu, uninstalled apps, muted websites, etc. and cannot find where its coming from.

MacBook, macOS 10.14

****, LN42northshore!

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you're hearing a random chime on your MacBook Pro and are not sure where it is coming from. To start, we would want to ensure that your Mac is running the latest version of macOS. To check for updates on your Mac, check out this article for How to update the software on your Mac. Once it is updated, please try setting the notifications again to test if the same behavior is occurring.

Next, we recommend taking a look at this article with steps to follow for How to use safe mode on your Mac. This will perform checks and stop certain software from starting up automatically. Once you are in safe mode, test to see if you have the same issue.

Let us know the results and have a great day!
